: : I just saw "Boys Don't Cry," and there's a scene where Brandon and Lana are in a convenience store buying beer. Right before the scene cuts, the clerk answers the ringing phone and says "Quick Stop." Is Quick Stop a franchise, or maybe a common name for convenience stores? If not, I'm thinking this may be a reference to "Clerks."
: : I'm probably reading way too much into it, but at least there's more to it than the Simpsons' "mootchie mootchie" reference everyone was so worked up about a couple weeks ago.
: ... there are - or were 13 years ago - Quick Stops in Nebraska.

I wrote this screenplay where I worked an blatant clerks reference when the main characters visit a convenience store in des moines, iowa. I live in the cultural hotbed that is southern colorado, so i have no clue about it whatsoever. i figure if there were quick stops in iowa, that would be pretty cool once i film the piece of shit; make the joke make more sense.
