Greetings from Spain, dear Kevin,
My name is Pablo and I am a member of a little Spanish comic-book fans’ association called “La Trama” which organises every year the comic convention known as UNICOMIC at the University of Alicante.
We would like to invite you in March of the next year 2001.Unicomic is quite different to typical conventions in USA, Wizard World for example. There are no stands to sell comics. We are not doing this for money, we’re in this because we like comics, we love chat about them. University helps us with all the money and all of it is used for the convention (publicity; meals, hotel and travel tickets for our guests…) , we don’t earn a cent. We just gather a lot of comic-books fans all together in big auditoriums and we chat in conferences about comics and it’s industry, authors, series, etc. Of course we will pay for the flight ticket, meals, hotel, etc.
Mike and Laura Allred have accepted our invitation, so they will be with us next year. That´s why we think it would be a good idea having you both at Unicomic, because we’ve been told you’re good friends.
I hope you think about our invitation and agree to come to Spain again.
This year, artist Gary Frank and writer Scott Lobdell have come as foreign guests . If you know them, you can ask them what they think about Alicante and Unicomic.
Thanks for all the time we’ve enjoyed with your films.
