Mr. Jason Mewes has long been wary of the dangers of typecasting, and demanded that the next film be the last. Apparently, he has not been able to nab primo roles (including the lead in The Hurricane, which Denzel ended up getting) because he is not being taken seriously for non-tweeker parts. Besides, he has been very vocal about his irritation over people yelling "hey Jay!" at him on the street because they can't discern between himself and the character he plays. He also has been quoted as saying that the creativity is just not in it for him anymore. He just wants to get out of the whole View Askew business and concentrate on getting his long-delayed retelling of The Taming of the Shrew off the ground.
