: He's one of the worst, if not THE worst, writers woking in comics today.
: Take a Peter David comic and try reading the dialog out loud. Go ahead, I'll wait......:::

I have not read a PD comicbook since I was wee high to a Silverback Gorrilla's nipple. But I remember he basically would make his dialogue revolve around lame one-liners and attempted "His Girl Friday" quick back and forths.

: Feel silly yet? Now try that with Alan Moore or Garth Ennis.:::

I really don't see the lure of Garth Ennis. I read the Preacher Trade paperback. It was unneccsarilly violent(And its hard to make me think that,because I like stylized violence. Not gratuitous,because that is neccsarily stupid. Ennis seems to hit roadblocks and then throw in fights and guns with no reason other than to show that Custer was tough. It made him seem insecure,which causes the character problems because the is supposed to be a tough guy who is so secure in himself he thinks he can whup god. Custer seemed like one-dimensional John Wayne wannabe. The Saint of Killers was just that, and he was more interesting than Custer. To me, Custer comes off as an insecure friggin' whiner.) and he seems to have pretty large sexual hang-ups. A freudian psychiatrist would love Preacher. It shows every stage of penile fixation. And he seems to be obsessed with assfucking, and then quickly throwing in a hedero fuckscene to offset it. I think Ennis is pretty damn overrated.

: you'll probably still feel stupid but you'll sound a hell of a lot more cooler.:::
: And realistic.
: And talented.::

I rikey the Alan Moore. I remember Watchmen and his Swamp Thing. They were good. Watchmen made the superhero bullshit believable. I wish Alan Moore would revive "The Spectre". The Spectre kicked ass.
