Killing people is a bad sin, so they coudn't just cap his ass. Maybe serendipity, since she wasn't human, but Jay and Silent Bob would be sinning or whatever, and i think that murder is a pretty big sin in catholicism.

Besides, Jay shooting his ass woudn't have been nearly as cool. No alanis, no cool ending.

As for him going through the arches -- only applies to humans. If he still had his wings, then it doesn't matter if he had gone through the arches the way i understand it.

What the hell? I'm debating a matter of dogma in dogma, the irony is killing me.

: So I was watching Dogma again last night... and something struck me near the end. Jay shoots up Bartelby, destroying his wings and therefore making him human. So now all Bartelby has to do is go through the archway and back, he'll be absolved of sin, end of existence, etc. but fortunately Bethany saved God in time for God to stop Bartelby. Well, here's what I don't get. Rufus and Serendipity run over and smack Jay for being such a dumbass and helping Bartelby become human. If he's human, and has not yet run through the archway, why don't they just shoot him then and there? He will have tons of sin still, and he won't get into heaven, and he'll be dead so the crisis is averted. Right?
