The book is about the conditions of the independant film scene from about 1980 to it's date of publication, which was 1995 or 1996. The bulk of the book is flat-out prose, but there are chapters with conversations between the book's author, John Pierson, and Kevin. There are 6 or 7 said chapters, and if you were to add them all up, I'd say there would be a good 20-30 pages of John and Kevin conversations. That was enough for me to buy the book, but the rest of the book was very good, as well. I highly recommend it.
