Vincent: DOGMA disc stuffed up

Has anyone else experienced problem with their DOGMA disc???

I'm one of these early DVD people that got into it in 1998 so me player is a generation 2 player and it won't play the widescreen side of the DOGMA disc. It plays the fullscreen side fine!

I tried it in two of my friends generation 2 players and it dosen't work. But it works on a generation 4.....

Was it mastered so older players can't play it or is this just a fault???
Don't be snide and say I should buy a new player because they are still pretty expensive hear in Australia.

Can you help me, or at least give me some answers?????????
