Not that it really bothers me much, it's really a rather ridiculous situation all in all. As fans we should be happy to the fact that Kev even bothers to look at what we think about his shit. And overall, fuck Kevin and Jason and THX and 'cartoon guy' etc etc because when it comes to my day to day activities, none of them really have any impact in any way. Once I log off, it's all bueno in my world again.
However I do agree there is a certain status quo of 'regs' who feel insulted that the board has gotten as much traffic as it has been getting the last 6 or so months, or some such nonsense feelings. I am sure we can all relate to it really though. I equate it to a point in my life where I was at one time the only person I knew who loved, liked, or even knew who Redman was. Now Reggie is doing fuckin WWF song's and kids are yakking all sort of nonsense about him. In a deep place, I feel violated, err...wrong word. I feel above these folks. I feel like everyone is on the bandwagon.
Replace Redman with anything in your life that you loved and noone else did at the time, and maybe you can feel it.
However....
The shit that really bugs me though, is the fucking summaries shit. The people who know every damn little detail about every single Smitty flic expect everyone else to spend as much time researching said info, and if they don't, they get dogged on. It's some elitist ass bullshit, and it's rather silly to the average surfer who happens upon this site and wants to voice some support for VA stuff and what is going on. In turn, if they don't spend time running through (rather poorly organized I might add) summaries looking for every single question ever asked, they are not deserving to be on here.
What always cracks me up is, when someone does post something that is off-topic, which is bad, it's then considered on-topic to then rant and rave at the offender about how off-topic they are.
But then you get folks like Eric or Ezzie or whatever his name is, who are mostly just posting to post, for the meer and slight chance in his mind that one of his life idols might happen upon and read his post, thus making his station in life complete.
It's all fucked up, really. And to boot, it't really just a slice of real life. You get the cool folks on here, you get the smart ones, the nerds, the losers, the bums, the haters, the stars, the jocks, the drunks, blah blah blah....and on top of it all, Kevin gains masterful insight from just being witness to all of the shit on here.
At least that's my rant on it....

: I don't understand why everyone here bitches at each other all the time on this board. Granted, there are stupid people in the world and on the board, (and I'm sure now I'll be considered one of them) but I thought this board was meant to be used to talk to/about Kevin Smith and his work. I'm fairly new to the board and I've seen a lot of cattiness on the board that I really didn't expect from Smith fans, who are usually pretty intelligent. I understand you're trying to weed people out or whatever, but we're all here for one basic purpose and I'd like to think that that's more important than insulting someone.
