I was just pondering this, but this Summer is a really weak Summer for films. I am not excited to see a single film this season with the exception of perhaps "Chicken Run." Last Summer we had the Star Wars flick and a couple other big films, but this year we've got nothing. Summer is the time for big budget crap --but nothing looks at all decent. I mad the unfortunate mistake of PAYING for Mission Impossible 2 as well as Gladiator. We've got Gone in Sixty Seconds...um...Jolie might be worth the price of admission but I doubt it. Gibson and Clooney battle July 4th for Patriot and Perfect Storm. The whole Summer looks really dead. About the only film this summer that has made me happy has been "Small Time Crooks," it's about time Woody got a Summer release --not to mention a nice deal with Dreamworks. Anyhow, I'm rambling, and these are just my random thoughts. Anyone else have any comments on the future of the cinema for the next 3 months?
