Hey, sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, but yes, my name is a reference to the great Giallo
Horror master, Dario Argento. I just registered for this board a couple days ago, just so I could ask
my 'Forked Tongue' question. I wanted to use Suspiria as my board name, as that's my favorite
Argento film, but it was already taken.
Funny thing is, I haven't even seen Deep Red yet. In fact, I didn't even know Argento existed until
about three months ago. I have seen Suspiria, Terror at the Opera, Trauma, and Creepers, as well
as a documentary about him called World Of Horror. Suspiria was absolutely incredible, and has
officially become my favorite movie. Sorry Kevin. Terror at the Opera is very good, also. Trauma
was acceptable. Creepers, I discovered, is the horribly edited American release of his movie
Phenomena. It's missing about 20 minutes of footage! I was so pissed when I found this out.
Anyway, I'm now on a quest to view and purchase every movie he has directed. I'm not really
interested in stuff he's produced, like Lamberto Bava's 'Demons'. Just stuff he's directed. Everything
from 'The Bird With Crystal Plumage' to 'Phantom of the Opera'. Even 'Five Days of Milan'. I also
can't wait for his newest project, 'I Can't Sleep'. I'm sure it will be great.
The trouble with Argento movies, however, is it's hard to find them. Especially if you live in North
Dakota! And even if you can find them, they are usually edited versions, like that piece of crap
Creepers or even worse, Unsane(shitty version of Tenebre). So, if you happen to know where I can
get my hands on some good, unedited versions of Argento films, you would be my hero for life.
