If you really want to learn filmaking or anything else for that matter...
you should intern or PA for things to learn from the others THEN go
do your own projects.
Rather than make all the mistakes and bad decisions on your own,
benefit from their knowledge of what not to do. Do you realize how
much time and money you can waste trying to learn as you go on a
NINETY minute film?!
Let that money earn some interest...

: Here's the deal i making my first big film, ie 90 mins or so, film next
month and over the next year gonna make a stack of little ones to
teach myself some of the in's and out's. i got loadsa other scripts on
the go too around 14 i think and a 6 episode sitcom on the side,
(British studios don't have the balls to make 24 episode seasons),
the reason i posted my question, was i was just after any pointers
Kevin or his 'homies' could throw my way. If my first film turns out
anything like the wonderfulness that is 'Clerks' you all invited round
for a showing with popcorn.
