Alright, alright...I'll admit that there were SOME funny parts to Wednesday's Clerks...but what is Kevin Smith thinking? Clerks (the film) was simply amazing as was Mallrats. Chasing Amy was for the most part a fine picture, and then there was Dogma (which I'll comment on at a later date). Now Kevin has landed himself in the middle of a cartoon series that, from what I saw, had almost no aspects of the Kevin Smith dialogue that I enjoy (with the exceptions: Lucas on the stand, Fast Times allusions, "lord and master of quick stop). I think part of the problem might have been the contract with ABC. Personally I think the show would be a better product for the Comedy Central station. With some of the network restraints and the TV-PG rating removed I think the spirit of the original film might give more life to the show. But who knows, those are only guesses. Hopefully ABC will give more than a 6 episode chance to the show though. Also I must keep in mind that what I saw was the first (fouth) episode, and that the rest of the show could be pure gold. Anyhow...just my opinion.
