WWW.POPIMAGE.COM WEEKLY LAUNCH
Under a bold new interface and cool new direction, PopImage.com is proud to
announce the first installment of their new weekly update schedule, going
live today, June 6th 2000 at http://www.popimage.com. Featuring all of the
great PopImage articles and candor you know and love, as well as expanding
outwards to cover more ground and to be much cooler. For those of you new
to the site, PopImage is a weekly newsmagazine that focuses on comic books
and sequential art. Each week we endeavor to bring you the best interviews,
feature articles, and most thorough reviews on the net. We update with new
content every Tuesday!
This week at PopImage:
- BENDIS AND OEMING PRESENT POWERS: Eisner-Award winning creator Brian
Michael Bendis and artist extrordinare Michael Avon Oeming bring you
POWERS, online. Previously only available in the Comic Shop News, PopImage
will be bringing you these strips every week during the summer.
- JAMIE RICH INTERVIEWED: Oni Press Editor and author of the upcoming novel
CUT MY HAIR, Jamie S. Rich is a guy with a lot to say. In an extensive
interview with PopImage, he talks about publishing comics, punk music, and
his (very cool) new novel.
- X-MEN LAUNCHES HOT NEW ARTIST: It seems that many of the big artistic
names in mainstream comics got their starts working on the X-Men, and
related books. We chart the rise of these artists, and look at where they
are now. An interesting article for X-Men fans, or those interested in the
property beyond the movie.
- FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Ever wonder if that new #1 issue on the racks is
something you want to add to your pull list, or something that you'd rather
add to the trash? Every month, PopImage staff and contributors comb the
racks of the new #1's to find out if they're something that you should be
buying. This month we review POWERS, RUMBLE GIRLS, NEVERMEN, CITY OF
SILENCE, and many more!
- ULTIMATE BENDIS: In between the beginning and ending of this two-part
interview, Brian Michael Bendis became a household name. That is, if you
live in a household that talks about comics. Find out all about Bendis in
the first of this two-part interview with the man behind POWERS, HELLSPAWN,
ULTIMATE SPIDERMAN, SAM & TWITCH, ULTIMATE X-MEN and many more.
Also this week:
We interview animator and Crazyfish Press artist Steve Rolston! We give in
depth reviews of DEATH: THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE, SUPERMAN Vs. TERMINATOR, and
WOLVERINE: NOT DEAD YET. In addition to Powers we've got two other very
cool comic strips, PUPPYDOG TALES and the Eagle-Award nominated RUST. Plus,
a preview of the upcoming BREAKFAST AFTER NOON #1, a look BEYOND
NIGHTCRAWLER, Alasdair Watson's MODERN DAYS, and much more!
So, make sure to visit http://www.popimage.com today. And be sure to e-mail
us at popimage@hotmail.com with your opinions about the new site design,
content, and your thoughts on the comic industry.
Thanks,
J.ELLIS
