I've posted this sentiment before in response to other things, but I think it's worthy of its own subject line...

Whatever the fate of CLERKS the cartoon, a way to extract some more value from the animation references and design work already done would be to use it in a very specific type of computer game.

I don't know if any View Askew Staff have played SAM & MAX HIT THE ROAD, or THE MONKEY ISLAND series, but the genre I'm talking about is the animated adventure/comedy game, and CLERKS would dovetail right into it like..well.. a.. I guess a dove's tail.

You can pick up a compliation "archive package" with SAM & MAX, DAY OF THE TENTACLE, and MANIAC MANSION (I believe it is Archive, Volume 1).. I urge any so-inclined Askew-staff gamer to pick up or get a copy of any one of these games, to see how easily they could be made into a CLERKS game. What's cool about these type of interactive "puzzlers" is that they live or die by the writing and acting- And I'm sure if this bee got into Kevin's bonnet, he'd have a blast writing for such a thing. Beyond that, the gaming community is ripe for a quality "adventure game" title, amidst the parade of 3d 1st person shooters, and glut of sword-swinging hack-n-slash fare that is filling the shelves of Electronics Boutique.

Seriously, consider it. It's an actually viable idea, and would make sense, considering the penetration that the Askewniverse has into the comics/animation/computer user circles.

Okay. I won't talk about this anymore.
