I don't believe this!! I just this year began to get into the Kevin Smith series of movies. I heard about them from a friend of mine over the internet and immediately rented Clerks, and I loved that one so much I went and rented Mallrats. I own both know, and have recently watched Dogma. I am going to buy Chasing Amy(which I have never seen before. It is extremely rare for me to buy a movie I have not yet seen but I am such a big fan of all three of the movies I have already seen that I cannot go without buying this one) and Dogma the next chance I get..
I don't have cable or a satillite, so the only TV channels I get are ABC, CBS, and NBC, and I was thrilled when I heard that Clerks was going to be airing on ABC and not Comedy Central or some other channel I would not be able to see it on. And now after only two weeks its been canceled?! Excuse my language, but what the f*ck is up with this sh*t?! Are those Millionaire spoon fed fools that run the ABC network so backward that they would give up on something like this? Or is Clerks too much for them to understand? I mean, for me I would think you need an IQ bigger then your shoe size to understand Kevin Smith's creations, and Clerks comes along and I am immediately fond of it. I taped the first two episodes and am going to keep them, at least until the video comes out (which by the way I will buy also when they come out). I can't believe this.
I've been having a bad day and this is just the latest punch in my face. I want to protest ABC's decision to shut down probably one of the best animated works I've seen. I found it to be very intelligent while still keeping to it's cartoon roots. I hoped and prayed that Clerks would have a long run on the ABC network, and after watching the second episode I had high hopes that maybe JUST MAYBE it would actually happen! But no.. these damn backward assed people couldn't take the time out of their busy nights of spanking the monkey or downloading internet porn to sit down and watch a great TV show? Screw them then! This is why I don't have any more hope for humanity as a whole!
Kevin don't give up on anything. I know how discouraging something like this can be to a creative genius such as you. Keep writing and keep making great movies man, because I sure as hell will keep watching them. I look forward to seeing Clerks 2 hit the theaters. I don't rarely go to the movies, but I am damn sure going to slap down my 8 bucks and go and see Clerks 2!
