But also because ABC just really disliked Kevin and the show. When they were shown the final episodes, they didn't understand them, and so decided to air them during the summertime. At this point a renewal for a second season was very, very slim. Then Kevin cried foul, and after a widely-publicized feud and the fact that Clerks got pretty low ratings, ABC decided to pull the show completely. That's a very vague recap of the events that happened throughout the past few months, but you get the gist of it.
