: Many MiniDV cams have a specific "16x9" mode, check your manuals. Other than that there are a couple of ways to do it;
: 1. Get an anamorpic lense - this will squeeze a wider picture into the same framespace as a normal DV cam. Obviously it will only play right when shown on a tv/monitor/projector with a "widescreen" mode.
: 2. Matte the image. Whether you do this "live" (as in matte the lens) or in editing is up to you, but once you've done it you can show it in a number of ways. If you have a DV cam that will let you matte in camera (i.e. most Sony's with Memory Stick) then give me a shout and I'll email you a bunch of pre-calculated matte .jpeg's and .bmp's that will do the trick)
: Two things to remember; anamorphic lenses for DV cams are BLOODY expensive and quite hard to track down too and matting the image will lower the overall vertical resolution.
