Dear Fragmentarian,
In regards to your question, what did I hope to accomplish by posting this indieWIRE stuff?
Nothing.
And in all honesty, I'm surprised Kevin responded to it or even that he saw it. I read it on indieWIRE, found the first letter ridiculous and the second pretty stupid - although at least it sticks to opinion, as opposed to what degree of success Kevin should or shouldn't have.
In terms of me being the "bearer of bad news." Well, that's a lot to say. Those posts aren't bad news for anyone, much less for Kevin. The fact that ABC pulled the plug is. Not what Huisman has to say about it. And also - and this is a matter of opinion- if I was in Kevin's position, I would like to know what is being said about me in publications- good or bad. Judging from his response, he feels the same way.
I'll take this opportunity to say I'm sorry if Kevin would rather that I didn't post it in the first place.
Later.
P.S. What is muckraking?
: While the posts that seem to go out of their way to annoint Mr. Smith's buttocks are somewhat annoying, I'll never understand the psychology of blatant muckraking.
: To the person who posted this:
: If you are a fan of Smith's work, what did you hope to accomplish with this posting? Did you want to be the bearer of bad news in order to then rally your support or sympathy? If you are not a fan and just decided to stir the ire of the frequent posters here, knowing well that there are a few loyalists here that would engage in balls-out-flame-wars, why do you enjoy such a thing?
: If you like this board, why abuse it? If you don't, why don't you post where you're better suited?
: Just trying to be sociable,
: Your Friendly Neighborhood Fragmentarian
