I'm so sorry that this is so off the topic of the message board, but ever since I saw this thing, I thought: "If there's anyone who can appreciate this, it's the people in ViewAskew."
Last night my boyfriend's bro comes home with this crappy show videotaped off TV way back in the late 70's: The Star Wars Holiday Special. Only aired once, never released again in any (official) form. This show was SO fucked-up. All original cast members are in it (including Mark Hammill, pre-automobile accident that screwed up his face), and it revolves around Han Solo and Chewbacca trying to get home to Chewie's wife's Lifeday (which, I assume, is like a birthday). Half of the show is just watching Chewie's wife, his father Itchy and his kid Bumpy (or Lumpy or something) growl and grunt at each other with no translation whatsoever. Many appearances by Art Carney, and at one point Itchy sits down to a sort of virtual pornography machine, where this lady (who I assume was a very popular singer at the time) talks dirty to him. Also a song by Jefferson Starship that had to be fast-forwarded through, and a neeto cartoon with Boba Fett, reminiscent of the He-Man style.
Has ANYONE else ever seen this?? I feel as though I have my grubby hands on a rarity, here.
Fine... to put it ON topic, we'll relate it to the Clerks TV show: one small, unappreciated spin on an anthology which rises to be the greatest of its time. That's my ass-kissing take on it. :9
