- this is the LAND of frivilous lawsuits- for example, let's say a scene for a movie is filmed on a block in a town, and in the background of one shot there's a glimpse of a store sign- is it not unreasonable, here in the good ol' U.S. of A, to think that the propriator of said store might actually try and make a buck off of it? Like, kick up a fuss and say, "Hey, I didn't give you permission to film my store sign! I'm suing you!" Stranger things have happened.
Moviemaking is a business venture, and limited partnerships are created for each individual production to protect the parent corporation. That's just how it's done, period.
