: I saw something while re-watching Dogma last night, and I couldn't find the answer in the archives--best to go to the source, I suppose. In the garage confrontation between Loki and Bartleby, Matt is usually standing beneath a circular hanging lamp. Was this done deliberately to give the "good" angel a makeshift halo, or was it simply a fortunate coincidence?

Just my take on it. Perhaps this is what makes the movie-going experience
so subjective. While it seems that lighting could always be the issue, per-
haps such a subtle clue which prompts you to even ask such questions shows
the existential depths to which one may go while imputing meaning to every
day life in a context of the purpose of life. Apparently, 'Dogma' expresses a variety of man's existential views on christs and crises.
To borrow an illustration: Is the platypus designed to be a joke, a living contradiction, an example of Evolution gone awry? Maybe that's the point.
You may see Matt's angel as good or a bad angel with a twang of conscience just before his ultimate moral bankruptcy. Then again.......ahhhhhh, screw it!? Who's got pie?.........................
