For those of you that have never read the book or haven't read it in a long time, take a deep breath.
Chevy Chase CAN'T play Fletch in this one. This is (chronologically) the FIRST Fletch story (Hence the name "Fletch Won". See, it's a play on words, a pun if you will. You know "won" = "one". Nevermind.)
Hell, in this book Fletch marries his very first wife. He's barely out of the cradle.
I am very interested to see who is going to be cast as Fletch. I though Chevy was too old for the Fletch movies he did do. Plus, Fletch is supposed to be witty, clever, charming, and very good-looking. Chevy would have been great for "Son of Fletch", but not the earlier, younger Fletch stories.
Jason Lee would be brilliant, but is he ready or willing to take on that kind of big budget hero role? He seems to like the character roles and independant films, he'd lose a lot of anonymity by taking such a visible part.
All this waiting with baited breath is getting to me. I'm gonna go brush my teeth again.
