No, they could still be themselves. And if they were lying about who they were, they'd go to Hell because God wouldn't forgive them if they lied while confessing about something.

Again, not exactly. If they did it, and God forgave them, it wouldn't unmake anything because God Herself would be forgiving them, and they would be allowed back into Heaven after apologizing. It's like when my dad used to make me write "I will not throw mud balls at my brother" 400 times. They would be punished and forgiven, and thusly allowed back in with no complications.
