I agree with you.
I realize that my analogy is in serious danger of seeming seriously self-satisfied and way, way too-serious.
I do, however, believe that ViewAskew was alotte some lengthy reverence for all the asinine off-topic self-idolatry that's hampered proceedings recently.
I do know that our heroes have their lives (I so stated)and that has a lot to do with their absense.
If I'm to make any radical point here, it is that users such as you and myself might be a bit more . . . em,understanding to users who, though they might not always blow our hair back with their contributions, they remain well-intentioned ViewAskew fans.
I'm not about to dissertate on this now...but you might guess one or two folks I mean.
I just want to take a second to give a shout out to those who celebrate ViewAskew here...but who are attacked as "dumb" or "stupid" for whatever reason...mostly because the attackers feel (or have felt) superior in some way.
I'm just as guilty as all the rest.
