IF... and that's a big if... if the bulk of the re-drafting was simply cutting scenes and lines, not reordering scenes or rewriting of characters and dialogue, it's not that implausable a concept.

Doing an 110 page chunk in two days... well... I've been there, too. Though it took a week to make those two-days work coherent... but then I'm still a beginner. Kev's done around ten of em, so he's probably got the editing process a lot better down than I do, as well.
