Well, yes.
Sorry.
I don't post much. I feel, on this board, I would be floundering in a sea of hastily thumbed thesauruses and puffed bongs. I'm still a fan, I just get scared in groups, especially ones where Jay and Silent Bob sock suspenders would be encouraged. Saying that, I have a 'Fly, Fat Ass, Fly!' t-shirt, mainly because I'm a fan, and partially because I have a fat arse, that kind of irony being just too big a draw for an Englishman. Anyway, just trying to say that although I'm of the family of fans that only says 'snoogans' when no-one bar Jaime Sommers would be in hearing range, I'm still a fan. I just post when it seems really important, or when some new pictures of EJAY models with their dangly bits showing get aired.
I have to post this time to say I hope Jason Lee gets a chance to do Fletch. Lee is a man that deserves the prefix 'Starring' in much the same way Charlie Sheen deserves the prefix 'Why' and suffix '?'. No offence to any of the other stars of Mallrats, but that was Lee's party. He shone as Brodie in a way that made me think I must have missed his first few films. And since that film all Lee's projects have been worthy, if not for the film itself, but for Lee's involvement. Chasing Amy was a fantastic film on all levels, and both Affleck and Lee were cast perfectly. Kissing a Fool didn't really pique the film lover in me, but Lee was great, always watchable. That's the thing, he is ALWAYS watchable, something in acting, and definitely not in the KGB, is a great trait to have. There are a few films coming out in the next two years that will definitely benefit from Lee's involvement.
So, if he gets the Fletch job, like so many people seem to be hoping for, I will be as happy as a man with two tadgers in a room full of Charlies Angels. He gets the comedy, he gets the drama, and he's a fine and dynamic actor. If he doesn't end up in Fletch, I hope to see him toplining a film soon.
And congratulations to Kevin for getting this gig. Must be a great feeling to get to work on something that you've had that much history with. I get the feeling you'll do the novels proud.
I best get back to my work, before someone notices my interest in it is faltering and start shouting words like 'synergy!' at me.
All the best,
Andy
