Well if you were smart you'd get into DVD right now. One the players are cheap ans the movies are really cheap too. I don't thinkn I've payed more than $25 for one (and I have several Criterions). Anyway, I have compared the 2 formats (which you obviously haven't) and besides from my Toshiba set up which has the awesome color stream picture, the fact that you simply couldn't do the outakes and voice overs properly with a VCR. Please make friends with someone who owns DVD or atleast with your local electronics dealer so you can play around with the machine (when you zoom in to read the fine print on the articles during the opening of chasing Amy you will be amazed that...hey I can read those!) So there you go...buy DVD today while the competition's high and prices are low!

: I think you theory about about Kevin Smith fans = DVD, I think that is a bunch of crap, and futhermore, I don't own a dvd player, but I suppose one day I will have to but, I really feel that the DVD player was a big elaborate plot of big companies to get more money out of the comsumer, and we fell for it hook line and sinker, i know you'll say, the visual and sound quality is so much better, but really has anyone compared the two formats, probably not. and I feel kind of cheated that they are only putting the cut footage on the dvd, why not put it on VHS, because they want to lure you into buy the more expensive version of the movie but putting the footage on there. But hey I guess you can't fight the man!!!
