I am currently in the process of making a short film. I would call it a student film, but as it is independent of a school, calling it such would be somewhat of a lie. The concept is as follows.
Main character, Holden, wakes one morning to a strange vision. He is shaken but not hurt. He continues with the day, but that evening, as he is about to head home, he has another vision, accompanied by a seizure. This time, he is slower to recover, but nonetheless not permanently damaged. He then goes to his girlfriend's house, where he falls to another seizure and vision.
He wakes up the next morning back home, with no explanation as to how he got there. Something is different, however. He soon finds that no one is around. Anywhere. He drives to his high school, where he finds that once again, no one is around. Out of nowhere, a man appears. He explains to Holden that he is dead, and that the afterlife is a little different from what he was taught in church. That shortly after the heaven and hell were created, they were scrapped in favor of a newer, easier to manage system. Yet this system didn't make it into any books, and instead the punishment-reward system did. The new system is that for the rest of eternity, the departed lives life as he had been living it before he died. So the lead is trapped living his life at 17, in the middle of a high school drama club production, with he and his girlfriend on unstable terms, etc...
