: How about Alex Proyas giving sort of a "Dark City" treatment with perhaps a younger Batman. A "Year One" prequel would be the only real way to go at this point, except for maybe a Batman Beyond film.
A Batman Beyond film would certainly be an interesting incarnation. It seems like it would be right up Proyas's alley, too.

: As for directors... I'd like to Burton do some re-makes such as those. He has the air for it. If I could, I'd bring Stanley Kubrick around to do Batman flicks, but that's beyond even my awe-inspiring power.
: Why not Ridley Scott?
Ooh, another interesting suggestion.
Speaking of which, having seen him play such drastly different roles as a Gladiator, a scientist for Big Tobacco, and an aging hockey player, a not-quite dirty cop, and a reformed preast-gunslinger, to name a few, I think he would make a good Bruce Wayne/Batman.
If we recall, Kilmer could pull of the millionare, but not Batman, while Clooney couldn't quite pull off either, with Keaton of course doing the best job, although not portraying Wayne too spectacularly.
I venture to say that Crowe could perhaps actually pull off Wayne as well as Kilmer, and a Batman at least as god as Keaton.

: : However, Coppola remaking Crow 2 would be worth a whole pile of money, in my book. I believe J. O'Barr would approve as well. That would be an amazing concept to do some Apocalypse Now-like multiple exposures with.
: : Oh, and I'd love to see Alex Proyas do something. Anything! Even an episode of Friends could become good if done by him.
: I'm still waiting for Terry Gilliam to stop reeling over Fear and Loathing and come up with something.
Another spectacular film. I live in Bat Country.
Imagine Proyas doing an incarnation of the Matrix! Wo. My mind is blown.
Well, not quite.
