Actually their relationship started after Rogue ran away from home and they crossed paths. Mystique is kinda like an adopted mom and so she wouldn't really have to be old enough to be Rogues real mom, and let's face it, with her shape shifting abilities it'd be pretty hard to figure her age anyway. Also, in recent years, the idea of Mystique being Nightcrawler's mother has come to surface, predomintly in the Sabretooth mini-series. I know that was quite a while back but I'm afraid most of my info is a little old but I don't really read X-men of recent years but with the return of Cris Claremont I'm gonna get involved again.
