: Hey Kev, i read the summeries, and although im not intrested in "sending you a script" i was wondering whats the big deal with someone sending you a script?

In a nutshell...there are plenty of *writers* out there who want their stuff to be read by industry folks. The LEGAL problem: Let's say I send Kevin a copy of my script and he actually reads it, but passes or says it sucks, etc. Then a couple of years from now, his newest film has some ideas or dialogue that are very similar to mine in it, even if it's unintentional. Presto-changeo, I sue Kevin, View Askew, whoever distributes the film and their mother. Maybe I win, maybe I don't, but it brings along a whole bunch of trouble and expense; nobody wants that.

So, legally speaking, neither Kevin, VA nor most others in any position of power will read any *nobody's* script because it could get them into some potentially serious legal trouble down the road.

AND could you imagine the influx of scripts to the VA offices IF anyone at VA said they would accept an unsolicited screenplay? Blort.

Always,
Michael Raben
