...I think of the Clerks cartoon as non-canon (to use a Trekkie term). The Clerks saga for me consists of the movie and maybe the comics (for the most part, the comics keep the same feel as the movie and keep Dante and Randal in character). The cartoon is so radically different than the movie, it's hard to combine the two into a seamless story. It's kind of like that Men in Black cartoon that's on the WB. It's based on the movie, and continues the story, but it's not really an official part of the plotline. When Men in Black II comes out, I doubt they'll work the cartoon continuity into the script.
