... I guess I'm just reading between the lines. If the problems was truly just that she was sick, do you think that the producer would have blamed the shutdown on "actions undertaken by the film's star, Linda Fiorentino"?
Being sick is a legitmate excuse. Hollow Man shut down when Elizabeth Shue got hurt and Courtney Love had to drop out of Ghosts of Mars because of an injury. So, if she really was ill, what's all the fuss about?
Oh, and "unspecified illness"? Do you know how many people freak out at their jobs and go to a doctor to get it blamed on "stress"? It's the easiest thing in the world.
Sure, this is blatant and obscene conjecture, but to me, it sounds like there's a Mike Myers/Dieter thing going on here.
And my final thought is... if it is truly just a health delay, then why are they planning on restarting the film later with the same crew and director, but different actors? Think about it.
And yes, I am a nosy judgmental bitch.

: : Production on "Till the End of Time," the film about the steamy relationship between Georgia O'Keefe and Alfred Stieglitz to be directed by Marek Kanievska ("Where the Money Is"), was shut down Wednesday. About 120 staffers were laid off, sources said. The film, which was scheduled to start shooting July 19 in Chicago but had not yet started principal photography, was to star Linda Fiorentino and Ben Kingsley. On Tuesday, completion bond company Gerling in Cologne, Germany, took control of the production. Various reasons as to why the production was shut down, including scheduling conflicts and a troubled history, were given by different camps. Eric Weissmann, attorney for the project's production company, Georgia Prods., said the film was shuttered "as a result of actions undertaken by the film's star, Linda Fiorentino." Reps for Fiorentino, however, said Weissman's statement was untrue. Fiorentino's agent, WMA's Scott Lambert, and her attorney, Kevin Morris, said delays in production were caused by the actress's illness last week and nothing else. Fiorentino saw a number of doctors last week for an unspecified illness. In a statement released Wednesday, the production company said: "As the matter is in the hands of our lawyers, we are precluded from making further comment at this time." According to the film's producers, the production is expected to restart either later this year or early next year with the same crew and director but possibly with different actors. Full story
