: Anyone else have a Sony Wega TV and have problems? Whenever I watch DVD's on it there seems to be like light streaks going across. It also has something called "Vertical Compression" that squeezes an anamorphic picture meant for widescreen TVs so it fits the 4:3 ratio, but I think something from the picture is lost when it does so. I know Chasing Amy was already misframed, but I think this TV does it on all DVD's. Sorry about my last post everyone....it was wrong and thats all I'll say. Later.
We checked out the DOGMA DVD on the new 32" WEGA in Kevin's office utilizing the set's 16:9 mode, and the image was absolutely STUNNING. Didn't notice any of the image being cut off, but haven't watched a ton of discs on it either. All I can say is, the difference between watching a true 16:9 image and an image downconverted to 4:3 letterbox in the player is amazing. There simply is no comparison, the 16:9 image is so much more film-like and smooth.
