I've got a 32" Wega XBR TV, and I don't have any problems with the vertical
compression feature--and I've got to say I love the quality of the image. Absolutely
stunning. I can't believe I ever felt satisfied with the image curvature of normal sets.

In initially researching the model, I found that some earlier models had problems
with streaks across the screen when connecting with composite video cables; that's
how I've got it connected now, and on my (new this year) model, there's absolutely
no problem. If memory serves, the automatic detection of the 16:9 signal is a new
feature (you used to have to make the adjustment manually), so I'm assuming you've
got a new set, and this may not explain your problem. one Obvious drawback to
the "automatic" detection, of course, is that now you *can't* make the adjustment
manually.

That's about all I know. If you've got anymore details, I'd be happy to add anything
I come up with.

Bill
