It is truly amazing what one piece of media can do to another these days..
obviously I saw "Clerks" first, then "Chasing Amy "..oh wait I missed that one withe the bookstore scene..ummmm, what was that ? hmmmm....
Anyhow, Piersons book was a real eye opener for me. I have found it very enjoyable so far. I had skipped around reading the whole book at first but I'll be reading it all in order this weekend in Maine..
The thing is though that from this, I came to realize allot of things I hadn't. When I saw "Do The Right Thing", at the time , I had no idea what I was really watching , pretty much the same with "Clerks". Now these have become a basis for a large study in film for myself along side the Kubrick, Lucas , and assorted odd films my dad had gotten me into as a kid.
But I've come to realize that there are allot of "throw away" films just as there is anything else, but there are pieces that define us. Not so much on a huge social scope ; thats a bit much to make a good assement ; but more of how these pieces realte to the people we are. They are reflections of thoughs and feelings I have every day...
So anyhow, if you haven't read this book , read it ,....if you have , read it again...and thanks to Kevin and John for a good read...
