...the other day, and I was glancing through some of the books on the shelves.

Since I used to go there religiously when I was little, buying Batman and Spider-Man. Well, I grew tired of Batman, but continued to read Spidey, 'cause he was, in my opinion, the best character in comics. Then came the Clone Saga, and I dropped it once they said "Peter's not Peter, the clone is the real one." Then they tried to bring back readers with the "Oh, never mind" issue, also bringing back the origional (and extremely DEAD) Green Goblin.

Back to present day, I was looking through issues and found that MJ was killed, Peter's fired from the Bugle and living in some crappy appartment with some other guy, and Aunt May is back from the dead. I was in shock and awe, and then remembered exactly why I dropped the Spidey books in the first place.

My point is coming, hang on a sec.

A little while ago I read an issue of Daredevil, written by Kevin Smith. I was like, "Hey! Kevin Smith! I love Kevin Smith!" I read the whole issue from start to finish, and my verdict was: Wow. It was good. The writers of Daredevil before really messed with the character, but that issue was really good. Kevin should come before the good people of Marvel comics and make a request: write Spider-Man. Remember the days of McFarlane's writing? Those were okay, but not up to the potential of what Smith's done. The flicks are great, the comics he does are good (I read others), and... I miss Spidey. That's why Untold Tales was a kickass book (unfortunately cancelled) and so is Spider-Girl. It's different, but I like it. But I miss the original Spidey doing what he does best. They brought him back for awhile after the clone saga, but then lost him again. ARG!

Anyway, the point is: Kevin's a great writer (comic and script) and should take on more subjects. Comics, other movies, books perhaps. He has amazing potential, and I look forward to seeing other movies that he has interest in doing in the future.

I've said my piece. Thanks.
