Okay, so there we were. We were all set to go on this awesome trek to Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, right? Sure, it's Feb. Sure, there's snow, slush, hail, and salt spray up the wazoo. But despite it all, we decided to go anyway. We get into the Falcon (we call his Jeep that 'cause it's like the Millennium Falcon, minus the cool and the fast. I believe the quote from Star Wars is: "What a piece of junk!") and we go from Kinnelon/Boonton Twp, New Jersey (way the fuck up North) and proceed on Saturday morning to the 'Stash!
We get there at about one, after many side-streets and going through Yahoo.com's lousy directions, and still have four hours before it closes!
...or so we thought.
When we get there after parking in a slushbank, we are smacked in the face with a little sign in the window with Jay and Silent Bob on it, saying basically "We're Closed, Go Home." We're crazed! Suddenly I look down and see an additional sign below that one, a hand-made sign. This one read:
"Closed due to pipe back-up and overpowering stench from next door."
"????!!!!!!!#@%$@#$&E&^$~!!!!!"
So after eating at a diner a few blocks down, broken and despondent, we went home. Going home was fun, 'cause the anti-freeze spritzer thing didn't work and we had to hang out the window to clean off the salt and snow shit on the windshield. After we got home we were asked by both our friends and families the same freaking question:
"Did you call first?"
Oh my God, it was an extremely frustrating ordeal, but afterwards we can laugh about it. We even took a picture of the sign written out in the door. Since then we've been back two more times, and yes, I assure you, they were open.
It's a really cool store. It's got tons of cool shit in it. Anyway, it's a really funny story that happened a while ago. Just want to get the record straight, I'm not bitching, I'm not complaining. I'm simply telling this funny story about a couple of morons who tried to go to the Stash from Northern Jersey in the snowy slush in Feb.
