Kevin did spend a few months (3-4?) at the VFS.

Well, Kevin left the VFS program, probably for a variety of reasons,
but somewhere near the top, if not the exact top, of that list was he
didn't think the program was worth the money. This is a rather compressed
paraphrase of the truth, so don't hold this as 100% non-biased fact.
Some good did come out of his experience though; he met (producer) Scott Mosier and (DP) Dave Klein while at the VFS.
What's funny to me is I've seen ads for the VFS in magazines and they
seem to champion the fact that Kevin went there (using it as a draw to pull in more admissions, no doubt), when the reality is so much less glamorous.
