I was listening to the audio commentary on "Robocop:Criterion Collection"(Note: AWESOME DVD to one of my ALL-TIME FAV movies!!!!)and at the film's end when Robocop kills Dick Jones and saves the Old Man. It's
metioned about an alternate ending that WAS shot for the film AND was previewed once. It involved another "Media-Break" sequence that shows Lois in the hospital recovering from her shot wounds AND one final shot of Robocop (repaired and looking great again) back at his job as defender of Old Detroit. Well let me get to the point of this... why do commentary's mention scenes that were cut out and you look through the dvd and that cut stuff is NOT there AT ALL!!! I mean there are exceptions (like the lost alternate ending to Dawn of the Dead). But with Criterion at the helm of this special edition it does make me a little angry NOT to find the alternate ending! (THAT'S my only complaint about "Robocop:Criterion Collection") Another example is the "Bowfinger" audio commentary. GREAT commentary by Frank Oz ("There is NO try!!") But he metions about eight times about stuff that was cut out that ISNT on the dvd. Well, does anyone agree with me on this subject? I mean if I'm gonna pay $30 for a "Special Edition DVD" I want my cash's worth in the deleted scenes section!!! As of NOW,Kevin Smith is the ONLY dude to consider that idea amongest DVD fans!
