: Yup, Mooby is a post-modern version of the Golden Calf in the story of the Ten Commandments. God became angry with his people worshipping a false idle, hence the first commandment. And although Kev reportedly denise it, I think Mooby sorta looks like Mickey and is a nice poke at Disney. And yes, Jay and Silent Bob the series was before DOGMA, but i think it was just a running gag that Bob liked Mooby. I don't think he's goin to hell for that or anything.
