: : Because at one point, Clerks *was* longer, and Dante got shot and killed at the end. So, them hooking up wouldn't happen. And, discounting that ending cuz it didn't really happen, Dante visits Caitlin in the asylum in the Christmas comic book, with no fear of retribution from Veronica. And since the comics are part of the Askewniverse, they didn't hook up.
