: : This was very, very sad to read, for all the wrong reasons.

: *nod*

: : I've met you, Bob. You're NOT funny. Be content to be funny to Lynch.
: : You've got an audience of one. Milk Lynch for all the laughs you can.

: Not fair, but...

: *nod*nod*

: : Remember - less is more (especially on this board). Except, of course,
: : when it comes to your stuff and Lynch - in which case more is more, and
: : could never be enough.

: RIght.

: : But please - never, never, NEVER say "...people I know think I am very
: : funny in person." There is nothing worse than a poor soul who doesn't
: : understand the differences between being a gifted comic and simply having
: : kind friends.

: I was gonna say something to this. But fact is fact- you're right.

: Which sucks. Because now I have to realize you are right.

: There must tons of people out there who never realize this til they're thirty and they wanna get up on that stage and fucking make people laugh there asses off because a few friends laugh at their jokes... least I've realized it soon enough.

: But...

: The one thing you're forgetting is that comedy is subjective and... People I had never met have seen Timmy and liked it. People that didn't know my friends in it and I didn't know liked it. Amber and her friends liked it.

: So maybe it ain't your cup of tea. I wasn't asking it to be. Was I hoping you'd really like it, of course I fucking was, you're my idol. But thank god you're not my core audieance- burn outs and rejects from high school slightly toasted and/or drunk, watching my movie at midnight.... And Lynch.

: But thank you for posting your review. That is more than appreciated.

: Bob, Lord of Evil
: Who could post a bad review on Dogma but doesn't wanna.

Kevin was full of shit with his "poor soul who doesn't know the difference..." comment. Just because Kevin(someone you respect, admire, and were probably intimidated by) didn't find you funny in person, or on video (I know a lot of funny people who can't force 'funny' into a creative outlet to save their lives), doesn't mean you completely lack comic ability. Maybe your friends laugh hardest at you not because they're "kind", but because you're more comfortable around them, so rather than trying too hard to be funny, it comes naturally. Or maybe they share your sense of humor. (Or maybe you, your friends, and fans are the sort who laugh when someone says "testicles.") Anyway, the fact that he didn't like your movie is no reason to turn teary-eyed and say "You're right...I'm not funny. At least I know that now..."(though I think you were probably being lugubrious there, anyway). So get over it. And download the Tenacious D song 'Cosmic Shame' on Napster. If Jack tells you to stop, I'm sorry, but then you must stop.
