I seem to remember that someone on-board, had dissed the effect of Bethany's intial douse of The Metatron with the extinguisher-can (Bethany's the only chick I would ever known of who really thought to have one of those cans 'round her crib).

What I think is cool about that moment is that it's visually, kinda stylish. It looks so textured that you know it's an effect . . . and yet, it's a cool-looking effect. It adds a texture that we've not seem from "Mallrats guy."

The point?
I can see why Kev., if I'm remembering correctly, made mention that he'd started to like "DOGMA" more and more, belatedly. Even moreso than "Chasing Amy" (which references and evokes "Mallrats" simply for the allusions to it in the narrative and the coattail-proximity of its subsequence).

"DOGMA" really is the first flick which allows the audience to forget "Mallrats-guy."

Considering how good "DOGMA" is, at its best (for my money, most of the scenes where Fiorentino is on-screen, for no better reason than what her part in this story brought out in Kev., as a writer)< I'm curious to know if this is where Kevin finally could see what his filmmaking could be...if Jay & Bob were finally absent from the proceedings.

I believe that "DOGMA" is top-notch, top to bottom (in whichever aspect ratio tickles you) with it's visuals and "look."
Kevin's always been lackadaisical with his technical chops, and yet I hope he's noticed how little he needs to learn about technical particulars when he can certainly hire folks who are quite involved with film visuals.

We can now all see that his writing gels nicely with decent production values. Watching professionals work is easy to learn from, isn't it?

After all that, here's my question: How did Azrael know where to send The Stygians after God. How did Azrael figure out something which even The Metatron was scoobied on?
