While I'm not sure if Kevin Smith will ever actually read this, I still have to offer up huge props to his cinematic genius. I was just recently introduced to the four View Askew films, starting with Dogma and then watching the original trilogy in order. While they are all great movies, "Chasing Amy" has moved to the very top of my Top 10 favorite movies list. I have NEVER watched a movie where I was so emotionally involved with the characters. I cursed at the TV, cried and begged that things worked out, and then curled up into a ball and wept like a schoolgirl when things fell through. As far as I'm concerned, "Chasing Amy" is probably the single greatest love story of the last 20 years... because of the realism. While I WAS hoping on a happy ending, the realism that sometimes life just sucks and the way that very fact was portrayed was outstanding. The story was amazing, and I guess the fact that Joey Lauren Adams' smile makes me melt helped too.
Once again, props to Kevin Smith, Joey Lauren Adams, Jason Mewes, Jason Lee, and Ben Affleck for a wonderful movie.
Oh, and hey Kevin, would love to meet ya someday and get an autograph... anyone know where I can find out how to catch up with him???
