They're not ending the current lines. All stories will continue on as currently produced.
There is a new line of "Ultimates" coming out in December, which is probably what you heard about, where the stories will all start again to adapt to the new stories, most likely based on the movies.
The first two series to get the treatment are X-Men and Spider-Man.
