: The Blair Witch Project never even addressed the topic of witchcraft. The Blair Witch may have been a witch in her natural life, but in the actual film, she's just a big intangible spook up to no good. Unless you were referring to the sequel, which, from what I understand, does incorporate modern witchcraft lore into the storyline, but you don't yet know what occurs in this film, so to chastise it for inaccuracy at such an early point is unfair.

I gotta disagree with you on this one, my friend. The title of the flick was The Blair WITCH Project, and the witch was a murderess. Like it or not, that does reflect on the public's perception of modern witchcraft. Even is the "storyline" had nothing to do with modern witchcraft, the title alone is enough. Remember the early weterns that portrayed Native American Indians as bloodthirsty murderers, all anxious to add another scalp to their collections? It took a whole lot of protest, but eventually that image was changed. Hollywood played a big part in it. If Pagans had more movies like "Dances With Wolves" then possibly more witches could "come out of the broom closet."
