I'm not Michael, but I'm pretty sure as a producer on a low-budget flick, you could go through the potential pain and suffering--or joy and enlightenment--of writing off your money put into the flick as a business expense. I would never do it because tax forms scare me . . . and I scare my accountant. Never gets much done. ; )
