: Question, Did Kevin and Scott go SAG sanctioned on Clerks, I am not sure which way to go, ACTRA is more expensive here but there are pluses with our union,

No, 'Clerks' was non-union; I'm fairly certain the others (including 'Chasing Amy') were all fully-union-uhm????-inated. Producing a Union shoot can be tricky business, especially when it's a low-budget indie. There are plenty of ways to do it though, oftentimes by deferring pay, offering up points of the gross, etc. What it really amounts to is scads upon scads of additional paperwork.

: also, what do you do at view askew? And should I pay attention to the bone heads that answer the questions I ask to you personally from me specifically to you...

I'm not affiliated or associated with View Askew; I just happen to enjoy the films, the people who make them and some of the friends of the people who make the flicks and some other people who post here as well, but that's not really important in terms of your question.

Most-times, I just lurk and read, shake my head occasionally at the somewhat consistent "cycles" of things and answer a question or two. The things is, there are plenty of other folks here, whether VA-related or not, who know their stuff too. If I can answer a question or add an additional perspective to what's already been written, I gladly do it.

It's really just good karma; the VA-folks and webmasters go to a bunch of trouble to put up this site, pack it with info/extras and make it enjoyable- the least I can do is try to give something back and not waste anyone's time.

Incidentally, you could always e-mail me personally if you had specific topics you wanted to talk about. I certainly understand if you wanted to post something here, in terms of wanting to get a variety of responses,
but the VA board is really meant for VA-related subject matter. Unless, of course, you have too much time on your hands, you want to post endless garbage on this site through your multiple user-identities or you're trying to plug your own project/plug a friend's project/plug a band/plug yourself as an actor/plug yourself as an actor in a movie about a band/ask for a job.

Then go right ahead.

Oh, no, wait. DON'T.

Always,
Michael Raben
