sort of...
you watch south park?
they did a 4 episode series once where each episode featured 1 main character. the other 3 had bit parts from time to time that, after 1 episode made no sense, ep. 2 you understood Kyle's bit part in the first and so on.
Stephen King also wrote 2 books that take place on the day of an eclipse where seemingly insignificant parts in 1 book took relevance in the second,
books were "Geralds Game" and "Dolores Claiborne" I believe
the references to Geralds Game were cut from the movie adaptation of Dolores Claiborne so no chance of that happening should Gerald's Game get the green light.

as far as sports where the main team/underdog loses in the end: Rocky
Dammit Stallone, Rocky and First Blood were such good movies, why oh why did they both become cheap, laughable franchises?

: i think it would be cool to see a movie where there is a scene where you see something, like another actor interact with the main charactor, but seem like a pointless scene in the film... and the actors/actresses can be the same person, just different charactors... and it Makes people think.."what the hell just went on there?" and they continue to think that until they see the "Companion" film. and that movie has the same scene in

it and it answeres all the questions... being that there are 2 different movies, released at the same time, with the main charactors in the same scene at the same time and it looks odd in one, but fine in the other... confused? read it a few times carefully and it might make sense... i hope... it sounds like a cool idea and also interesting.

: One more thing, wouldn't it be great to see a sports movie like "RUDY" or even "Necessary Roughness" where a team starts off bad and makes the championshipat the end? BUT, the twist is that the team loses the game. THAT would be an empire-like Down ending... and best of all, no one would expect it! NOOCH!
